Chemical sword bluing and artificial aging/patinas...

Here are some photos of the bluing job I did on my Windlass/Del Tin Viking sword. It took about an hour all together. Now, keep in mind, it rubs off with mild non-abrasive metal polish. Though the process looks textured in some areas, its smooth to the touch. The lighting does not completely reveal the coloration of the blade. Though the flash reveals a bit, the sun gives it true justic. You'll have to let your imagination do the rest for you.
They have been using the process for years in Hollywood. I've just adapted it for my own use because I hate new, unbattle-worn looking gear!
